Tour · Island · Authenticity
Uzi is an island in the Zanzibar archipelago, located south of Unguja in correspondence with the ruins of Unguja Ukuu. Approximately 6 kilometres in length — the second-largest island in the surrounding area — with a population of around 6,000 residents. Part of the protected Menai Bay Conservation Area with minimal tourist development and largely pristine natural environments.
Features mangrove forests and diverse wildlife, including the endangered red colobus of Zanzibar. The island is connected to Unguja by a road that becomes completely submerged at high tide — access by local boat. A full day of discovery: guide, boda boda (local motorbike), car and boat all included.
